Astrid Pujari, MD, is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Integrative Medicine. In addition to her private Intuitive Coaching practice, she is currently the Integrative Medicine Medical Director at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle, Washington. With more than 20 years of experience in Integrative medicine, she has proven to be a leader in bringing the integration of nutritional, herbal, and mind-body therapies with traditional Western medicine to the mainstream. Through lectures, classes, retreats, and articles, Dr. Pujari has educated both lay and medical audiences on numerous topics, including meditation, energy medicine, and integrative approaches to a wide variety of health issues such as depression and healing the gut microbiome. She has worked as a consultant, clinician instructor/associate professor, and program developer for local hospitals, and ran her own private medical practice for 13 years.

East-West Training

Dr. Pujari received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Scripps Clinic and Research Institute, and then completed clinical training to obtain a medical herbalist degree from the Royal College of Phytotherapy in London. In addition, she has studied and continues to study Eastern philosophy in order to expand and evolve her practice of merging spiritual and philosophical traditions with Western thought. Having come from a background of Vedic priests in her personal lineage, she continues to develop her knowledge of Indian philosophy with living and previous teachers including Ramana Maharishi, Sri Shakti Amma, Sai Maa and Sri Aurobindo.  Dr. Pujari also studies Traditional Chinese medicine & has degree in 5 element acupuncture from the Wu Hsing School of Acupuncture.  She is currently obtaining a Masters degree from the interfaith Chaplaincy Institute in Berkley to continue to develop her understanding of the intersection of subtle energy, Reiki, Vedic philosophy / chanting / ceremony, sound healing, and Daoist energy principles with health and healing on every level.  To share this profound ancient wisdom and give access to its powerful healing, Dr. Pujari leads retreats internationally and has performed and taught Vedic ceremony and philosophy, as well as Sanskrit chanting meditation practice.

Dr. Pujari wrote a health column for the Seattle Times, and has written two books, The Healthy Back Book and The Healthy Knees Book.

She was featured in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, and in Natural Health – a national magazine on holistic therapies, as well as a mind-body consultant on Fox news and King-5 news, and on several radio shows including the Dr. Pat Show. She is a contributing author to Change Design, a book published by the well-known, international architecture firm, NBBJ, as well as Neurology Now: Brain Tumors by the American Academy of Neurology.
