
Astrid Pujari, MD, ABIHM is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Integrative Medicine. She worked as a primary care physician for a number of years, and then for more than a decade, worked in her own private Integrative Medicine practice—integrating nutritional, herbal, and mind body therapies with traditional Western medicine. Dr. Pujari has taught numerous classes and led many retreats focusing on meditation, and how to connect to your inner wisdom, for lay and medical audiences—locally, nationally and internationally. She was featured as a mind-body consultant on Fox news, as well King-5 news, and several radio shows including the Dr. Pat Show. Currently, she is the medical director for the Center for Integrative Medicine at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
East-West Training:
She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, completed her residency in internal medicine at Scripps Clinic and Research Institute, and then completed clinical training to obtain a medical herbalist degree from the Royal College of Phytotherapy in London. In addition, she has studied and continues to study - including through embodied experience & practice - Eastern healing, spiritual and philosophical traditions, and merge them with Western thought. She has studied energy, Reiki, Vedic philosophy/chanting/ceremony, sound healing, and Daoist energy principles - and trained with Eastern teachers including Sri Naryani, Sai Maa, and obtained a degree in 5 element acupuncture from the Wu Hsing School of Acupuncture. She leads retreats internationally and has performed and taught Vedic ceremony and philosophy, as well as Sanskrit chanting meditation practice.

Dr. Pujari wrote a health column for the Seattle Times, and has written two books, The Healthy Back Book and The Healthy Knees Book.
She was featured in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine, and in Natural Health – a national magazine on holistic therapies. She is a contributing author to Change Design, a book published by the well-known, international architecture firm, NBBJ, as well as to the Neurology Now: Brain Tumors by the American Academy of Neurology.
